Salesforce Syncing and Publishing in Territory Alignments

This article describes how to sync from and publish to Salesforce in Territory Alignments

This feature is available in points-based territories, and for area-based territories when a custom object based on Geographic territory assignments is used. Both the sync and publish buttons will appear in the Control panel as seen below.

Syncing

Syncing allows you to refresh the Salesforce data present on your map. This means that any unpublished changes made in eSpatial will be overwritten from salesforce. When using this option, it is important to be cautious, as any unpublished changes made in eSpatial will be overwritten from salesforce, including any changes to territory alignments and additional field values.

Publishing

The publish option allows you to overwrite the data within salesforce with changes that you have made in eSpatial. This works the opposite to the sync function, essentially pushing data from eSpatial to Salesforce. In points-based territories, changes made to accounts such as assignments and edits will be pushed into Salesforce directly from your eSpatial territory using this function, while in area-based territories, changes to geographic areas (zips, counties, states) etc. will be pushed into Salesforce.

Note: These territories can be added to a map in the eMapping tab, however information cannot be edited or synced.
